LEGACY SCHOOL GARDENS

The mission of the Legacy School Gardens Project is to partner with the community to create vegetable gardens in our schools.
Our Vision is to connect children to their food, therefore to their health and to their community.
Our Goals are to establish the groundwork for each of the elementary schools to use the vegetable garden as an outdoor classroom to teach Science, Math, Language Arts, Art, and Technology.
Benefits To The Students: Research supports that school gardens enhance academic achievement, promote healthy living, instill environmental stewardship, encourage community and social development and teach children to nurture and respect our earth.
