Family Promise Day Center Fund

The mission of Family Promise of St. Tammany is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence.

Recognizing that poverty is a multifaceted problem that requires a multifaceted response, they respond by integrating educational outreach, smart programming, effective policies, and the hands-on work of thousands of volunteers. They provide food, shelter, and support services for homeless families, as well as advice and advocacy for at-risk families to prevent their becoming homeless. Educating people about poverty and the means to combat it is a function of their mission.

Since opening its doors in 2015 they have helped 54 families transition from homelessness toward a sustainable future.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN - Family Promise has begun a capital campaign to raise funds to build a new Day Center on the Safe Haven Campus. The Day Center will be strategically located to help serve a greater number of families more efficiently while keeping them closer to their support networks, schools and employers.

The Day Center will act as the administration and programs office for Family Promise of St Tammany. It will be utilized as a hub of operations for all programming for homeless families, meeting/ training space for board of directors, staff and volunteers.

The homeless families will utilize the space specifically for an address for work and school purposes, laundry, and hygiene/showers. The families will depart each day for the host congregation around 5pm and return each morning at 7am, 7 days a week. The families will also have access to outside resources who will utilize the space to meet with the families.
