Northshore Emergency Relief Fund
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the local nonprofits that serve the most vulnerable among us on the Northshore are in tremendous need. Our Northshore Emergency Relief Fund is being used to channel resources to those frontline organizations dealing with this national emergency.
TOTAL EMERGENCY RELIEF GRANTS DISTRIBUTED IN 2020
The Foundation has distributed 77 COVID-19 related grants totaling $400,000 to the following organizations:
Northshore Food Bank – Food Pantry Support
Our Daily Bread - Food Pantry Support
Samaritan Center - Food Pantry Support
Good Sams Ministry - Food Pantry Support
Second Harvest Food Bank - Food Pantry Support
New Orleans Mission - Food Pantry Support
Community Christian Concern - Food Pantry Support
Bogalusa Help Center – Food Pantry Support
Washington Parish Help Center of Churches – Food Pantry Support
Wesley Foundation at Southeastern – hot meals to students remaining on campus
Catholic Charities NOLA – direct support through case management for St. Tammany residents.
NAMI St. Tammany – emergency assistance for mental health clients
United Way Hospitality Cares Fund – direct support for out of work hospitality industry workers on the Northshore
Hosanna Lutheran - to support their effort serving hot meals to families in need in St. Tammany and Tangipahoa parishes
Tangipahoa Council on Aging - to support increased meal delivery to seniors
CATNIP Foundation - to provide emergency medical care and supplies for influx of animals during health and financial crisis
Brilliant Mindz - to provide educational materials to students and nutrition and rental assistance to Bogalusa residents
Catholic Charities of BR - to support early childhood home visits and resource delivery to at-risk families in St. Helena
Family Promise St. Tammany - to fund hotel stays for homeless families during the shelter at home order
Habitat of Humanity St. Tammany - to support homeowners facing hardships through mortgage forbearance
OPTIONS - for telehealth to provide medical support services to special needs clients
Restoration Pregnancy Resource Center - to provide diapers, infant formula and baby food to families with losses of income
St. Tammany Hospital Foundation – to support community-based COVID-19 antibody testing
Southeastern Development Foundation - to support the Discovery/Renew Family Resource program providing groceries and children’s activities to families in need
Volunteers of America of Southeast Louisiana - for telehealth to provide mental health services to clients
Slidell Memorial Hospital - to create a Serenity Room to provide stress relief for hospital staff working on the frontlines
West St Tammany YMCA - to support their meal distribution program
Women's Center for Healing & Transformation - to support virtual therapeutic and wellness programming
YMCA Bogalusa - to support the meal program to provide free lunches to the underserved population in Washington Parish
East St. Tammany Rainbow Childcare Center - to support the Children’s Nutritional Aid program
NAMI St. Tammany – for front line mental health services and to provide meals to front line mental health workers
East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity - to support homeowners facing hardships through mortgage forbearance
The Hospice Foundation of the South - to support the Reopening Cleaning Project of the facility
St. Helena Council on Aging - to purchase hand-held UVC lights to clean facilities in St. Helena Parish
Hospitals Meals and Gift Cards for Frontline Healthcare workers
