Mission: The Miracle Match Fund matches the next generation philanthropist with regional nonprofit organizations that are working to provide valuable programming and resources for children with special needs; at-risk youth; or other vulnerable populations, such as seniors.

History: Founded and chaired by St. Paul’s School senior Harrison Mayfield, the Miracle Match Fund is organized by a committee of teens with the guidance of community advisors. The Fund’s inaugural 2024 event, a junior doubles tennis tournament, raised $14,000 to benefit Miracle League Northshore.

Why: Since 2021, Harrison has been a dedicated Miracle League volunteer, serving as a “buddy” to children with special needs; in particular, his friend and neighbor Michael. In addition to playing tennis himself from a young age, Harrison also coaches junior tennis—a role that allows him to serve as a mentor to kids like so many coaches have been to him. According to Harrison, “Creating this tournament seemed like a natural way to combine these pursuits, while making a bigger impact in our community.”
