Civics plays a crucial role in shaping our country’s future, so the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce is pleased to partner with the US Chamber Foundation to bring the National Civics Bee to Southeast Louisiana.
The National Civics Bee is a nationwide competition that encourages 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to explore civics, engage in their communities, and learn respectful dialogue.
Students begin with a written essay and advance through live, non-partisan regional, state, and national rounds. Winners at each competition earn cash prizes, and national finalists advance to compete in Washington, D.C. for a $100,000 education savings contribution. State champions’ schools also receive $5,000.
As America approaches its 250th anniversary, the National Civics Bee is more than a competition—it’s a movement to strengthen our country, our economy, and our workforce from the ground up.
The student essay application portal for the 2027 National Civics Bee Competition open September 2026. Stay tuned for 2027 sponsorship opportunities!
