Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West

Home Construction
Donation
The construction crew provides training to volunteers on how to use construction tools safely and efficiently. Throughout time, these tools undergo significant wear and tear due to the repetitive nature of their usage. The support of supplying new equipment and tools is necessary for the volunteers’ safety.

Volunteer Opportunity
This is the 22nd year of the annual fundraiser/build campaign, Women Build. Women Build is an annual project in which Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West empowers women, without excluding men, to build homes, enabling them to positively impact the lives of families by making home ownership a reality. Often, over 400 volunteers contribute over 2,065 volunteer hours during Women Build to help build these homes in West St. Tammany Parish. Women possess all that’s needed to create dramatic change in our community. From volunteering to donating, there are many ways to contribute to the success of this program.

Volunteer Opportunity
Building a Habitat STW home is a tangible expression of your desire for everyone to live a stable and healthy life. No experience is necessary to be a part of our team, just a belief in our mission, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. By working alongside current and future Habitat homeowners, other volunteers like yourself, and Habitat STW Site Supervisors, you’ll see that your effort and experience can create a change that will be seen for generations to come. Depending on the stage of constructions volunteers can expect to: frame floors and walls build porches install windows and doors complete insulation preparation paint and finish interiors set trusses
