South Slidell Swimming Scholarship
Purpose
The South Slidell Swimming Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 by the Lakeside Swim Association, Inc. through the Northshore Community Foundation. The purpose of the Fund is to offset educational expenses to any accredited two or four-year college/university. The scholarship award is to be used toward the following in the order of priority: tuition and fees; room and board; books and supplies; and commuting expenses. The Fund’s primary objective is to award one scholarship to a Salmen High School student and one scholarship to a St. Tammany Swim League team student.
Eligibility Details
Two recipients will be selected by a Scholarship Advisory Committee–one graduating senior on the Salem High School swim team and one graduating senior on the St. Tammany Swim League team. Both will be awarded a one-time $1,000 scholarship. All applicants must demonstrate their intention to attend an accredited, two or four-year college or university.

Previous Recipient
Dominick Montecino
Dominick Montecino graduated from Lakeside and was part of the Gators swim team. While in high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the USA Swim Team. He is currently in college studying for the Maritime Industry.
